Fresh Cherry Crisp

This Fresh Cherry Crisp is the perfect dessert for summertime. Made with fresh cherries, this recipe is quick and easy to prepare. It’s sweet and tart, and pairs perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.


  • 4 cups of fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small cubes

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the pitted cherries, white sugar, and lemon juice together, and spread them out evenly in a baking dish.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together. Add the cubes of unsalted butter and mix the ingredients together until they resemble coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the cherries, making sure to cover them evenly.
  5. Bake the crisp in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  6. Let the crisp cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
