Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  4. Add flour mixture to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour mixture.

  7. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan to cool completely.
