Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

This delicious Broccoli-Cheese Casserole is a perfect side dish for any dinner. This recipe makes 8 servings and is an excellent source of vitamin C and calcium.


  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese


  1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF (190ºC) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Boil the broccoli florets for 5-7 minutes, until they are crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Gradually stir in the flour until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring constantly. The mixture will thicken.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper and cook until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  6. Add the boiled broccoli to the cheese sauce and stir to coat.
  7. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
