Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Jayne’s Cranberry Sauce

This recipe makes 8 servings of delicious cranberry sauce that is perfect for Thanksgiving or any other holiday gathering. It’s quick and easy to make, and it’s packed with nutrition.


  • 1 pound fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • zest of 1 orange


  1. Rinse the cranberries and discard any stems or leaves.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, water, cinnamon stick, and ground cloves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick from the sauce and stir in the orange zest.
  6. Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a serving dish.

Additional Notes:

  • This cranberry sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
  • If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can blend it with an immersion blender or transfer it to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
